The first step installing the Remote TV camera was to find a suitable water tight container. I search everywhere for something that would fit inside the sail of the submarine, and finally located a packaging material at the local Dollar Tree store. My granddaughter (Jessie) has ponytails, and there was a package of them at the store. The package was a clear plastic tube with a sealed end. Other materials I used were:

The camera was screwed to the perf board that had been cut to fit inside of the clear plastic container. The battery (to be replaced with a lithium 9 volt battery in the future) was attached to the perf board with Velcro® for easy removal. The SPDT switch was installed and will be hooked up before installation inside the sail. This switch will allow me to control the ON/OFF function with my transmitter. |

The assembly was placed inside of the tube and the toothpick cap was also inserted inside. Electrical tape was wrapped around the outside of the tube, and finally the spice jar cap was screwed on. If this is not enough to ensure a water tight connection, a small bead of silicone will be run along the edge. Here is a pic showing the front side of the assembly. The front side has the camera, battery and SPDT switch. |

Here is a pick of the back side of the assembly. The back side has the power connectors, the camera antenna and the soldering side of the SPDT switch. The soldering points will be covered with electrical tape to prohibit shorting if accidentally touched by the power connectors.
