I installed the ADC-1 in the forward WTC, and it will automatically control the bow planes when activated. The ADC-1 works like this. First, you pre-set the operational depth before launching your submarine. The ADC-1 will operate the bow planes to control the depth while submerged. For example: when the sub is submerged, and you have set the depth for 18", the sub will stay there all afternoon! This is as straightforward as I can make it ... keeping it simple! |

I had a problem with the ADC-1 when first trying to install it. After I sent the unit back to Skip (from SubTech), and discovering I probably shorted the chip out, it was repaired and returned to me no charge! Is that service, or what? I can´t say enough good things about that man and his business. Well anyway, back to the problem. I must be able to de-activate the ADC-1 whenever my bow planes are retracted. To do this, you must have (or purchase) a separate switch that doesn´t send power to the ADC-1. I used a normally open switch purchased at Radio Shack. It was very inexpensive and easy to install. Here, you can see I´ve installed it onto a pre-drilled board and glued it on top of the ADC-1. |

The surgical tubing carrying pressure from outside of the WTC is extended forward and to the port. It is connected to a piece of 5/32" brass tubing that was installed through the Celtec and sealed with silicone adhesive. I wrapped two wire ties around the surgical tubing after gluing it to the brass tubing with CA glue. |
