Manufacturing the Ballast Tanks

The ballast tanks were constructed from a piece of PVC fence post material and Celtec. The tanks were cut to length, and then Celtec caps were glued onto each end.
Two fittings were installed; one for the blow tube and the other for the vent valve. The fitting threads received Teflon tape prior to installation.

Three (3) ¼" holes were drilled into the tank bottom to allow water to enter.
There will be one ballast tank forward and one aft. Here, you can see the forward tank sitting in the hull prior to the valve and tubes being installed.
