The radar shaft pulleys will be housed inside the mid-mast deck. I manufactured the housing from Celtec and glued it to the mast base. If the belt ever decides to break, I´ll be able to replace it as the deck will not be glued together. |
| The deck holding the six (6) halogen lights was also manufactured from Celtec. The shape (hexagon) was cut, and then the lights were glued to it. The lights were purchased from Harbor Models and were manufactured by Robbe (see web site links on my Links page). |

As you can see, minor cleanup will be required prior to painting. |

This deck will be attached to the mast just above the radar units.
The red arrows in the bottom photograph show the location of the halogen lights. |

Prior to installing the bulbs, wire and lenses, I decided to paint the inside light housings with chrome paint. The outside light housings will eventually be black, and the deck itself will be white. |
| Here, you can see I´ve painted the light housings black and installed the bulbs, wires and lenses. |

I´m routing the wires down the outside of the mast and through a piece of heat-shrink tubing. Once everything is installed and hooked up, I´ll apply heat to the tubing and shrink it down to the smallest size possible. The space inside the mast is being reserved for other wiring; emergency lights and masthead light. There is absolutely not enough room for everything! And besides ... the real boat has wiring traveling down the outside of the mast. |
