Part 3 - Hydrants and Eductors

The hydrants/eductors reside on deck just aft of the bollards. Mine were manufactured from ABS Plastic tubing, Styrene Solid rod and brass rod. The valve itself was a plastic Saunders Valve (Plastruct) which I ground and filed into shape.
For the hydrants, I used the same valves that were molded/cast by Paul Holloway of Holloway´s Hobbies (see web site link on my LINKS page).
Brass rod was used for the handles.
The hardest part of the manufacturing process was bending the Styrene Solid rod into shape. I used a small torch and vice, and you can see here that the plastic burned a little. No worries though, as this will be sanded smooth prior to priming and painting.
I told you so ... the burn marks are gone! Here, you can see that I´ve done a little sanding and applied a coat of gray primer to the hydrants.
And ... another view for your enjoyment. The final priming and painting will be done later.
