Welcome to John's RC Boats

Have you ever thought about building your own radio-controlled fireboat? ... the newest and most innovative fireboat in the world? ... a fireboat with working monitors? ... a fireboat with the Voit-Schneider Propulsion (VSP) system? ... a fireboat that will give you many years of personal satisfaction and enjoyment?

Los Angeles Fireboat 2 ...?

If so, my web site may help you do just that!

To date, there are no vendors providing building kits for this fireboat. If you want a radio-controlled model for yourself, you´ll have to scratch build your own. I opted to scratch build mine using the "lost foam" method, but you may decide otherwise. Regardless of how you do it, my web site may assist you in accomplishing your goal.

A Special Thank You!

I need a break from model building once in a while! Here, we are traveling through the redwood trees in the Avenue of the Giants (northern California) while on our four (4) month Adventure Across America. Click this photo to visit that web site.

You can also visit our RVJunkie web site that narrates our three and one half year fulltiming adventure.

Construction began in October, 2003 with an operational target of June, 2004. I didn't make my operational target due to traveling the country in our RV and also moving, so my new target is 2012. This web site will be periodically updated until my fireboat is in the water and I´m putting out fires at the local lake.

Feel free to browse at your leisure and absorb just one way of constructing a radio-controlled fireboat. I don´t claim to be an expert in the hobby; quite the opposite! I´ve received advise from family, friends, Elite Fleet of Virginia Beach members and even others from the Internet.

I´ve tried to organize the web site into sections rather than a step-by-step how-to guide because its impossible to narrate the steps in chronological order until they´re all complete. Anyway, you should still be able to gather valuable information for constructing your own fireboat.

In addition to my sections, I´ve also included vendor links, radio-controlled related links, several pictures of the real Los Angeles Fireboat 2 and over 300 pictures (when complete) of my construction process.
