Los Angeles Fireboat 2
BRIDGE DECK STRUCTURE

Part 2 - Bulkheads (continued)

The photos of the Bridge Deck Structure have changed from the ones on Part 1. Why? Because I messed up and cut the deck too large. Why? Because I was in a hurry! No excuse, I know.

Well anyway ... the deck was cut to the proper size and I began manufacturing the bulkheads again. Here, you can see several cut to shape and installed.
The screws in the top of the deck are there so I can remove the structure from the temporary supports later on. The entire inside space will eventually be open.

Notice the masking tape holding the bulkheads in place. The bulkheads were glued on top only! They will be glued to each other, but not on the bottom yet until I decide how to gain access to the inside of the boat at the lake!
The angles on this piece were extremely complicated, but it eventually fit perfect. My advice to others building this structure would be to get the right tools and take lots of time making the cuts.
Here is a close-up photo of one of the bulkheads. Notice how the groove in the upper deck provides a nice resting place for gluing.
