To highlight the steps of the Boat Deck Up/Down Stairway, I purchased some WireForm material from my local craft store. It is made of aluminum and resembles the grating design for marine steps and walkways. Prior to installing this material, I painted the stairway (and adjacent bulkhead) with gray primer. |
| I used a pair of scissors to cut each step and then simply glued them onto the stairway. Here, you can see a closer view. |

| The handrail, made from plastic rod by Plastruct (see their web site link on my Links page), was installed in two (2) steps. First, I drilled holes into the bulkhead for the handrail mounts and inserted a small piece of plastic rod. Then, after the glued had cured, I glued the plastic rod to the mounts. Final cleanup was accomplished by sanding the extra material away from the back side of the bulkhead. |
